Jaisalmer, Rajasthan : On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project (RUIDP) organized an awareness program on the theme “A Safe Environment is Life” at the historic Gadisar Lake on Friday. The program was conducted under the direction of Superintending Engineer Ashok Kumar Jain and under the guidance of Executive Engineer Purushottam and Assistant Engineer Biramram.
Addressing the program, CAP’s Social Development Specialist, Kundan Singh Bhati, said that increasing pollution is posing a serious challenge to both human life and the environment.

Global warming, air pollution, and excessive exploitation of natural resources are adversely affecting human health. He explained that approximately 11 million tons of plastic waste pollutes aquatic ecosystems every year, exacerbating problems such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
Project Manager Sajid Pathan stated that adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle is the need of the hour for environmental protection. He called for promoting the use of solar energy, energy conservation, and water conservation, emphasizing that humanity’s future lies in protecting nature. He said, “We are from nature, but nature is not from us.”
Social activist Labhu Devi, highlighting the important role of women in environmental protection, said that women’s active participation can give new direction to environmental conservation and promotion efforts. She called upon all women to come forward for environmental protection.
Those present at the event pledged to protect the environment, adopt a plastic-free lifestyle, and conserve natural resources.
