Saini community holds grand panchayat in Bharatpur, demands for 12% separate reservation intensify
Bharatpur, Rajasthan : In Rajasthan, the Saini, Mali, Kushwaha, Maurya, and Suman communities have launched a campaign against the government over their 11-point demands. A grand panchayat was held today at a marriage home in the city to formulate a strategy, after which a memorandum was submitted to the District Collector in the name of the Chief Minister.
Rameshwar Saini, President of the Yaduvanshi Saini community, stated that despite previously blocking National Highway 21, the government only offered assurances and did not fulfill the demands. The community has issued a one-month ultimatum to the government, warning that if the demands are not met, they will block railway tracks.
The demands raised by the community primarily include granting 12 percent separate OBC reservations to the Saini, Mali, Kushwaha, Maurya, and Suman communities. In addition, the Mahatma Phule Board is being demanded to be granted financial and administrative powers, similar to the Dev Narayan Board, and to immediately appoint officials. The birthplace of Saint Likhmidas Maharaj be declared a national monument, and a dedicated Saini regiment be established within the Indian Army.
