Dholpur: Media exposure visit organised by Public Relations Department at Bainpura Anicut under Vande Ganga Abhiyan

Dholpur, Rajasthan: An effective media exposure visit was organized in Dholpur under the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Sahyogita Abhiyan to educate media personnel on various water conservation activities in the district. The objective of this field visit was to disseminate information about innovations, infrastructure development, and public participation being undertaken in the district towards water conservation to the public through journalists.

On this occasion, under the auspices of the District Information and Public Relations Office, a team of journalists, led by Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations Officer Rajkumar Meena, visited selected water structures such as the Bainpura Bari Anicut.

Bainpura Anicut, the lifeline of villages, is no longer just a water structure but has become the lifeline of seven villages. This structure, approximately 150 meters long and 2 meters high, has a water storage capacity of 40.31 million cubic feet.

The water from this anicut has not only significantly increased the groundwater level in the surrounding villages of Bainpura, Madaripura, Bhimgarh, Tontari, Sunday Ka Pura, Angad Ka Pura, and Jatpura, but this water source has also become invaluable for animals and birds.

Purpose and Message of the Visit

The Assistant Director stated that the primary objective of this field visit is to increase social awareness about water conservation, encourage public participation, and highlight the work being done in the district through the media.

Journalists praised this initiative, calling it an informative, inspiring, and practical experience. This media visit will undoubtedly provide new direction and momentum to collective efforts for water conservation.
