
Former minister Ramesh Meena lashed out at Sapotra MLA: Said – no development has taken place in two and a half years
Karanpur (Karauli) : Former Cabinet Minister Ramesh Meena, while participating in the Pad Dangal held in Fajitpura village of Karanpur area, spoke openly on several local and regional issues. During the event, he accused Sapotra MLA Hansraj Meena of negligence, commission-taking, and corruption in development works. He also warned of a third agitation, stating that the people of the Dang region are the most deserving of Chambal water.
Upon his arrival at the event, members of the Dangal Committee welcomed former Minister Ramesh Meena with a garland and a turban. On this occasion, Karauli District Chief Representative Rakhilal Bairwa announced a donation of five lakh rupees from his quota for the construction of the Meena Dharamshala in Karanpur.
Taking aim at the Sapotra MLA
In his address, former Minister Ramesh Meena targeted the Sapotra MLA, saying that the expected development in the area has not occurred in the last two and a half years. He alleged that commission-taking is taking place in development works and the double dam project remains incomplete. He also questioned the quality of ongoing construction work in the Karanpur Valley, stating that if the work is not up to standard, an investigation will be conducted after two and a half years.

People of the Dang region have the first right
Ramesh Meena stated that water from villages in the Dang region also reaches the Panchana Dam, yet the people there are not protesting. He stated that water is being drawn from Chambal Rajghat through the Nadoti-Sawai Madhopur Chambal Lift Project, while the second phase of the project was supposed to provide water to approximately 80 villages in the Sapotra, Mandrayal, and Kailadevi catchment areas. To date, these villages have not received water.

He stated that the people of the Dang region have the greatest right to protest over Chambal water, but now a third party has emerged. He demanded that the government provide Chambal water to the villages in the Dang region. Addressing the villagers, Ramesh Meena said that such religious events foster social harmony. He suggested a new initiative, advising that instead of offering beedis and smoking to welcome guests at religious events, buttermilk, milk, yogurt, and fruits should be served. Youth and women should stay away from drugs and educate their children.
Several public representatives and villagers, including Karauli Pradhan Jaldhari Meena, Jamphal Mogepura, former Toda Sarpanch Sumer Sharma, Radhakrishna Gwaidada, Shri Ganesh Meena Toda, former Sarpanch Bhairolal Pahariya, Ramhari Meena, Kadu Meena, were present at the event.
