MLA Bhati flagged off the Prabhat Ferry and gave the message of water conservation and cleanliness at Gadisar.

Jaisalmer, Rajasthan : On the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima, various programs dedicated to water conservation, cleanliness, and public awareness were organized in Jaisalmer on Sunday as part of the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan, a public campaign launched by the state government. Organized under the joint aegis of the District Administration and Jaisalmer Municipal Council, public representatives, officials, social organizations, students, and the general public enthusiastically participated in the programs, expressing their commitment to water conservation and cleanliness.

The program began in the morning with a grand Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Prabhat Ferry and Public Awareness Rally held from Amar Shaheed Sagarmal Gopa Gate. Jaisalmer MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati flagged off the Prabhat Ferry. A large number of public representatives, officials, employees, and citizens were present, including the District Coordinator of the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan, Kanwar Singh Chauhan.

Participants in the Prabhat Ferry carried placards with messages related to water conservation and cleanliness, raising awareness among the public. The atmosphere resonated with slogans like “If there is water, there is tomorrow,” “Every drop is precious,” and “Save water, save life.” The public awareness rally passed through the city’s main roads and reached the historic and sacred Gadisar Sarovar, where a cleanliness and volunteer program was organized.

Work Donated at Gadisar Sarovar

MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati, District Coordinator Kanwarraj Singh Chauhan, district-level officials, employees, Scout-Guide, ANM trainees, police personnel, and citizens actively participated in the cleanliness drive organized at the historic Gadisar Sarovar on the occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima. Everyone participated in the drive by sweeping, collecting garbage, and placing it in designated bins, thus spreading the message of maintaining the cleanliness of water sources.

The sanitation workers of the Municipal Council also played a key role in the campaign, extensively cleaning the Gadisar Sarovar complex. During the drive, everyone present reiterated their commitment to keeping water bodies and public places clean.

On this occasion, MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati stated that the primary objective of the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan is to conserve, store, and enhance rainwater, ensuring the preservation of water resources for future generations. He emphasized that water conservation is not merely a government program but a movement of public participation, requiring the participation of every citizen.

He stated that the campaign’s activities across the district are receiving widespread public support. The message of water conservation, cleanliness, and environmental protection is being spread in every village, hamlet, and town. He urged all citizens to play an active role in regularly cleaning and conserving water sources.

Enthusiastic participation from various sections

District Coordinator Kanwarraj Singh Chauhan, Additional Chief Executive Officer Jitendra Singh Sandu, Municipal Council Commissioner Lajpal Singh Sodha, Police Inspector Durgaram, Superintendent Engineer Subhash Jangid, Superintendent Engineer (Watershed) Kaushal Paliwal, Senior Groundwater Scientist Dr. Narayan Das Inkhia, Additional Development Officer Kailash Paliwal, women, police personnel, Scouts and Guides, ANM trainees, officers and employees from various departments, and prominent citizens were present at the event.

Water Conservation Pledge Administered

At the conclusion of the event, District Coordinator Kanwarraj Singh Chauhan administered the pledge to all participants to conserve water and maintain cleanliness. He urged everyone to understand the importance of every drop of water and to make water conservation a mass movement and to pledge to conserve water and maintain cleanliness in their homes, neighborhoods, and villages.

Held on the occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima, this event successfully conveyed a strong message of society’s collective responsibility towards water conservation, environmental enrichment, and cleanliness. The public participation based water conservation movement is continuously gaining momentum in Jaisalmer district through Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan.
